A fifth Bean and Leaf store opened today in Cork, situated in age West.

Speaking to The Echo, owner of the successful coffee chain Corkman Bill Twomey, who runs the company with his business partner and fellow Corkonian Eddie Vaughan said they have high hopes for their store in age West.

“We were looking around and we saw that age West is a growing town with not a huge range of cafés and we saw an opportunity.

“We spoke to a number of people in the town and did some research and we realised that there was a great appetite in the town for a good coffee shop.” The store which is around 200 square metres in size is located beside the town’s Aldi and Bill said he is hoping that the store will do well in its location.

“The size is right and we are using the same model as we use in our other stores. Good Irish coffee roasted in Ireland and all our cakes and sandwiches are made fresh every day.” Mr Twomey said that all the bread they use is baked in Cork every day and any leftover food is given to homeless charities at the end of the day.

The two Corkonian business owners told The Echo they have long term plans for their store in age West town.

“We are here to stay,” Bill said, “age West has a population of 6,000 and it is growing all the time. It is a big town and it is definitely on the up.”
