Limerick Rose wins Rose of Tralee: Sinéad Flanagan is a junior doctor in Cork
The 2019 International Rose of Tralee is Limerick Rose Sinéad Flanagan. 

The 27-year-old from Mungret, Limerick, claimed the Rose of Tralee crown in a packed dome in Kerry tonight. 

Her success will delight her many friends, colleagues and patients here in Cork. 

She studied medicine at University College Cork (UCC) and graduated in 2018.

She is currently working as a junior doctor in Cork.

Sinéad describes herself as an avid er of Limerick hurling and has a strong track record of voluntary work to help people in some of the poorest countries in the world. 

She spent a month volunteering in rural Ghana in 2017.

Meanwhile, Cork Rose Stephanie McCarthy will return to Leeside with her head held high after the week of a lifetime and a great performance on stage last night when she charmed audiences across the country.
