Uisce Éireann said the second outage will take place from 7pm on Thursday.

A SECOND planned water outage will take place in Glanmire later this week as Uisce Éireann undertakes essential works to the local water network.

The works are being carried out as part of the water utility company’s Leakage Reduction Programme and, according to Uisce Éireann, will “strengthen the water supply network in the area by reducing leakage and improving operational performance of the water network”.

The first outage took place on Tuesday, with some homes and businesses in Richmond, Ballinglanna, Woodville, Fernwood, Chestnut Meadows, Ard Corrig, The Paddocks, Glentown Road and surrounding areas impacted by reduced water pressure or supply interruptions.

Uisce Éireann said the second outage will take place from 7pm on Thursday.

It will remain in place for a 12-hour period, lasting until 7am on Friday.

During the outage period, homes and businesses in Woodville Estate, Factory Hill, The Beeches, The Courtyard and surrounding areas may be impacted by reduced water pressure or supply interruptions.

As the water supply returns, Uisce Éireann said there may be some increased instances of discoloured water in the short term.

Vulnerable customers who have ed with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
