Ireland’s Eurovision Song Contest entry Bambie Thug has improved their odds to win the competition in Sweden.

The Cork-born singer, who uses they/them pronouns, is competing in the semi-final tonight at Malmo Arena with Doomsday Blue and is looking ever more likely to be the first Irish contestant since 2018 to make the final.

Ladbrokes says they are being given 1/25 odds to qualify, with 8/1 placed on them to win their semi.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said:

“All eyes are on Bambie Thug right now and our traders are clearly convinced Ireland have a great chance of going all the way in Sweden.”

The bookmakers have also slashed odds from 16/1 to just 9/1 on Bambie clinching victory.

Croatia’s Baby Lasagne with the infectious Rim Tim Tagi Dim is on 11/8, while Switzerland’s Nemo with operatic infused dance track The Code is priced at 7/2.

The UK’s Olly Alexander with Dizzy has attracted bookmakers’ odds of 66/1.
