Cork’s ‘little theatre with a big heart’ has issued a last call for entries to its annual short play event.
The submission deadline for this year’s Cork Arts Theatre ‘Views from…’ short play season is next Monday, March 31, and the theme this year is ‘Views from a Couch’.
The theatre is seeking 10-minute, character-driven plays across all genres — comedy, tragedy, farce, fantasy, horror, and period pieces.
A shortlist of 10 plays will be compiled, and then be staged during the theatre’s performance week, which will take place from Tuesday, May 27 to Saturday, May 31.
The theatre said the 10-minute maximum duration was important, and the easiest way to gauge a play’s length was through a live reading.
A rough guide to length is seven or eight pages of double-spaced dialogue.
Plays should be sent as a PDF or Word document to: [email protected] with the subject line ‘Views from a Couch Submission 2025’.
