Cork senior camogie side got their second win in the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Championship with a comprehensive win over Tipperary at the Ragg on Saturday.

They added to their opening win over Limerick with another quality display to get the better of Tipperary by 3-21 to 1-9.

Three goals in the first 10 minutes, from Amy O’Connor, Clodagh Finn, and Katrina Mackey put them well on their way to victory.

Afterwards, manager Ger Manley said this was a game they targeted as it’s never easy to beat Tipp, especially at their home ground.

“We set ourselves up for this one really we trained very hard for this and so look we are delighted,” said Manley, “I thought we were going very well in training during the week and the girls were very focused.

“We were clinical in front of goal which is great, normally we start slowly, but the girls were brilliant today.

I thought we got three super goals and probably could have had a few more.

"At half time we just kept the show on the road and Tipp came into it, they were always going go, but I thought we finished well again.”

Tipp got the first three scores of the second half, with the wind at their backs, but Cork responded with four in a row, which delighted Manley.

“The wind was very strong, it was slightly going across the pitch and down into the Thurles side. The pitch was grassy and very high and slowing the ball down a small bit, but it doesn’t make a difference and we were very efficient probably could have had a few more goals in the second now.

WORK ON

“But we have things to work on and two more games to try and win.

We have Clare at home now in three week;s time and then away to Wexford so hopefully, we can win them and top the group.”

On the rare goal that Cork conceded Manley wasn’t happy and felt there were several fouls beforehand that should have led to a free out.

“Yeah, I wasn't happy about it. I thought there were a few fouls in the lead-up. I thought Laura Treacy got a blatant push in the back. But she finished it well, give her credit, but the girls were disgusted to concede it.

“But look we park that game now, get back to training on Wednesday night and focus on the Clare game."
