Tony Considine on Munster hurling final: Cork simply must limit Limerick stars Kyle Hayes and Cian Lynch

Let's hope Limerick and Cork can produce a great final as we badly need this.
The Munster championship so far has not been good. Poor standard of hurling in my opinion. And some poor games.
Is there a reason for that? I think there is.
They will have to look at the scheduling of the games as there should definitely be a gap of two weeks between games for every county. There is too much pressure to perform week-in, week-out. It's especially unfair on players and if they pick up injuries they don't have a a fair chance to recover.
Also, referees should really use a bit more common sense. I feel referees are under a bit of pressure, especially with someone analysing you from the stand, and every little detail noted. I don't think hurling needs that.
Most hurlers are very fit and very skillful and rarely have I seen a player going out of his way to injure anyone. They give us high entertainment at times and are responsible young men. They put so much in to entertain us all.
John Kiely and Pat Ryan... huge week for both and well able to handle it.
For Pat Ryan, how does he get his team to turn over a 16-point hammering a few weeks ago at the same venue? I liked his attitude after that game. He turned his attention right away to Waterford, which was the right thing to do.
Good call to concentrate on the business rather than dwell on the disastrous performance. He got that job done against Waterford, though I'd say he was not too happy with that performance.
He must realise Cork have not played that well since winning the league final against Tipperary. Some of their players have lost a bit of form. But now is the right time to get it back, especially when they know what they are coming up against this Saturday.
John Kiely's big concern is can Limerick keep up the form they displayed in the first half against Cork, a perfect team performance? Very hard to think this could be repeated for the rest of the year.
Limerick were really tuned in, revenge for being denied the chance to play for five in a row.
Limerick are the big favourites but I feel there is still a bit of nervousness about it. There were a lot of theories after the last game, which I think were a load of rubbish. It just didn't happen for Cork on the day and everything Limerick touched went right.
Every team goes out to give their best in championship. Cork and Limerick went out with the same intention that day. It happened for one and it didn't for the other.
This will be very different for a lot of reasons. There is something to be won. Cork are definitely not coming to Limerick to roll over.
We don't know the line-ups yet but Cork will have to find a way around the tremendous half-back line of Diarmaid Byrnes, Barry Nash and especially Kyle Hayes. Hayes is the leader of this Limerick team. He is big, he is strong, he is forceful and a great hurler. Cork will have to stop his dominance.
But like all good players, he can be temperamental at times. Would Cork put a similar player on him? A big guy like Tim O'Mahony perhaps?
Like for like might suit here.

Seamus Harnedy will start this time and for me, he has been Cork's best forward for the last 10 years. Always shows great leadership, and always able to get a score when they need it most. Should be some tussle between himself and Barry Nash.
Will they be able to contain Aaron Gillane inside? Like Harnedy for Cork, Gillane has been Limerick's best forward for the last number of years.
This is a huge game. The last thing Limerick want to see is a Cork captain collecting the Mackey Cup in the Mackey Stand, but as we all know in hurling, stranger things have happened.
