The seizure was made by personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau after they intercepted two vehicles shortly before 5pm on Thursday

Eight men have been charged after cocaine with an estimated value of more than €157 million was seized from the Panamanian cargo ship in Irish waters in September 2023.

Further arrests are expected following the multi-million euro haul.

Over €78,000 in cash was also seized during a follow-up search

The man has since been charged and will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Tuesday morning.
