In his closing, defence barrister Brendan Grehan, said there was 'no evidence' in the case that the accused  intended to kill or cause serious injury to his wife. 

The judge noted that the two victims did not engage physically with the three attackers, and that the off-duty gardaí only tried to defuse the situation.

Data released by the Irish courts revealed  that nationally almost €45m in unpaid district court fines are outstanding or not fully paid since 2020.

Judge Kelly remanded the man on bail on stringent conditions to appear before Cork District Court on March 25 next. 

A WOMAN charged with an alleged €3,000 shoplifting expedition in Cork city centre was released on bail on condition that she would stay out of the city centre until her next court appearance.
