The 14-year-old school boy was found dead in a storm drain after having gone missing in north Belfast.

It has emerged that the technology set to be used to examine CCTV footage linked to the case was only available to police on a trial period.

A coroner has said he wants to hold an inquest into the death of the 14-year-old Belfast schoolboy before the summer.

Police had investigated Stormont’s Department of Infrastructure in relation to the storm drain in which the schoolboy was found dead.

The inquest into the death of the Belfast school boy has been scheduled to take place over three weeks from November 28th.

Mr Justice Michael Humphreys, who is Northern Ireland’s presiding coroner, said disclosing the information would create a real risk to the public interest.

The decision was taken following an open public call for suggestions to name the bridge.
