Soldier F is accused of murdering James Wray and William McKinney when of the Parachute Regiment shot dead 13 civil rights protesters in 1972.

District Judge Ted Magill said he was satisfied the statements can be dealt with in a ‘fair, just and reliable fashion’ by a trial judge

The committal hearing will determine whether there is sufficient evidence to proceed to a Crown Court trial.

Former paratrooper Soldier F is facing two counts of murder and five counts of attempted murder.

Prosecutors last year announced they were discontinuing the proceedings amid concerns the case could collapse at trial.
