A man (30s) has died after a crash in Co Mayo.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the fatal crash in Claremorris on Monday evening.

The collision involving a car and a lorry occurred on the N17 at Corbally at around 5.20pm.

The driver of the car was fatally injured.

No other injuries have been reported.

The road was to remain closed overnight ahead of a technical examination by forensic investigators scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

They are also appealing for any road s who may have camera footage to make it available.
