There were a total of 672 patients waiting for a bed at Irish hospitals on Wednesday morning.

The INMO (Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation) Trolley Watch figures show 436 patients were waiting in emergency departments, while the remaining 236 were in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

There were a total of 125 patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick, 76 at Cork University Hospital, 64 at University Hospital Galway, and 48 at Sligo University Hospital.
