A woman has died following a serious incident at Rosslare Europort this evening.

It's understood the woman was fatally injured during an incident on a ferry which arrived from Fishguard.

The Stena Nordica sailing from Rosslare to the Welsh port has been cancelled this evening as a result.

In a statement, gardaí say there are no public safety issues at this time and a crime scene has been declared.

The spokesperson said: “Gardaí are currently at the scene of a serious incident onboard a enger ferry en route to Rosslare, Co Wexford, this evening.

“A crime scene has been declared.

“While Gardaí conduct inquiries onboard, there are no public safety issues at this time.

“There is no additional information available at this time.”

A spokesperson for Stena Line confirmed that the incident occurred on the 2pm sailing from Fishguard to Rosslare.

The spokesperson added: “This is a police matter, so please direct all further questions to the Gardaí.”
