Gardaí complete search of property in missing Kyran Durnin investigation

A search of a property in Co Louth being carried out by gardai investigating the suspected murder of Kyran Durnin has been completed.

Gardaí said they are not releasing the search results for operational reasons but have renewed their appeal for information.

Kyran, who would be eight-years-old if still alive, was reported missing in August and a murder investigation was launched in October.

Gardaí believe he might have died aged six after it emerged he had not been seen since May 2022 when he was a pupil at a primary school in Dundalk.

Gardaí began the search of the property in Drogheda on Wednesday.

A spokesperson said: “Gardaí investigating the disappearance of Kyran Durnin have completed searches of a private property in Drogheda.

“The results of the search are not being released for operational purposes.

“An Garda Siochana continue to appeal to anyone who has any information in connection with the disappearance of Kyran to investigating gardai.

“Do not rule out any information that you may have.

“Please do not assume that the investigation team know the information that you may have.

“Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, will be welcomed by the investigation team.

“This information will be treated in the strictest confidence.”

The spokesperson said that investigations were ongoing.

A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of Kyran’s murder months after the investigation was launched last year.

In December, the man, aged in his 30s, was found dead.

Three domestic properties and ading land have also been searched to date.
