In Connacht, Moycullen from Galway beat Westport of Mayo 3-18 to 1-11 in Castlebar.

In Munster, Eire Og of Clare beat the Nire of Waterford by 3-11 to five points.

All-Ireland club football champions Kilcoo have made a winning start to their Ulster Championship campaign.

The Down kingpins beat Monaghan's Ballybay by 2-14 to 1-7 in their quarter-final clash in Clones.

In hurling, Kilkenny's Ballyhale Shamrocks are through to the Leinster club semi-finals.

They beat Castletown Geoghegan of Westmeath by 5-25 to 15 points.

Elsewhere, it's St Mullin's of Carlow 12 points Ferns St Aidan's of Wexford 1-6 at half-time.

And Clough/Ballacolla of Laois lead Kilmacud Crokes of Dublin by four points to two in the first half of their meeting at Parnell Park.

Kilkerrin-Clonberne have retained their Connacht senior women's football title.

The Galway champions beat Mayo's Burrishoole by 1-15 to four points in Charlestown this afternoon.

Soccer

Derry City are the FAI Cup champions for the sixth time in their history.

Cameron McJannet scored twice as they beat Shelbourne 4-0 in this year's final at the Aviva Stadium.

Jamie McGonigle and Jordan McEneff also found the net for the Candystripes. It could have been five as Michael Duffy, who caused havoc for the Shels defenders, struck the woodwork with a fine effort.

It's Derry's first cup success since 2012.

It was a day to forget for Shelbourne and their ers.

After the final whistle, manager Damien Duff and his staff spoke to the disappointed Shels players on the pitch before heading back to the dressing room.

Alejandro Garnacho scored in stoppage time to give Manchester United a 2-1 win over Fulham in the Premier League.

Christian Eriksen was also on the mark for Erik ten Hag's side, with United fifth in the table heading into the World Cup break.

A win in the season ending tournament today would be Harrington's fourth on the Champions Tour this year.

The three time major winner will return to the course at half 7 this evening.

Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow will start today's final round of the Pelican Women's Championship five shots off the lead.

The Irish pair are tied for 13th on 5 under par after yesterday's second round.

Both players tee off later this afternoon.

American Allisen Corpuz leads by one in Florida at 10 under par.

Rugby

The death has been announced of former Munster head coach Jerry Holland.

The 66-year-old was the province's first head coach of the professional era.

He also represented Munster, Leinster and Ireland as a player, plying his trade in the second row.

Formula One

George Russell claimed the first win of his Formula One career as Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen collided at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Pole-sitter Russell delivered an electric start at Interlagos before expertly surviving a late safety car as Mercedes finally got off the mark at the penultimate round of the season.

The 24-year-old follows in the footsteps of Hamilton, Jenson Button and David Coulthard to become only the fourth British winner of a Grand Prix this century.

Russell’s supreme performance, 24 hours after he triumphed in Saturday’s sprint race, followed another altercation between Hamilton and Verstappen.
