A Cork bar is giving partygoers the chance to start their Christmas party in Cork Harbour this year, before continuing the celebrations back on dry land.

Popscene are teaming up with Cork Harbour Cruises for Christmas Cruises which will take place on three Fridays across November and December.

Cork Harbour Cruises’ fully weatherproof vessel will set sail on a 2.5 hour cruise with the biggest 80s and 90s classics providing the soundtrack.

Partygoers can dance the night away with a full bar on board, and resident Popscene DJ’s on the decks playing throwback hits.

The cruises will depart from Customs House Quay at 6:30pm and attendees will have a post-cruise transfer to Popscene to continue the nostalgic theme late into the night.

“This is a very new departure for us but we’re very excited about it,” Popscene director Stephen Forde said.

“Since reopening our doors last year, the response has been phenomenal and we have been thinking about how we can continue to improve our customer experience and offer people something different.

“Christmas party season is consistently one of our busiest periods, but we were keen to ‘push the boat out’ and come up with a more unique offering.

“We’d like to express our thanks to Trish in Cork Harbour Cruises for accommodating us and we’re really looking forward to working together to provide a very special and uniquely Cork Christmas party experience.”

The event is strictly over 23s, and tickets are €65, available through Eventbrite. Larger group or corporate bookings are advised to book directly through [email protected]
