Kenny Jacobs, CEO of daa, which operates both Cork Airport and Dublin Airport, told
: “The plan is still to demolish the old terminal. I think that will happen in 2026, as part of our wider plan.
“This terminal will get wider as we put in new piers, and the plan is for the old terminal to be demolished in early 2026.
“We’ll have a new pier going out that way and new gates to [the] left as you come into the airport, where the old terminal was.
“It’s all a sign of progress: We want this airport to be bigger, and that means developing the infrastructure.”
Mr Jacobs added: “The daa wants to continue to Cork, in of infrastructure development, and we are going to get on and start building this year.
